Tubs of crystals and hanging damp traps can help a wardrobe or a rarely opened cupboard. They cannot keep up with a shower, a pan of pasta, or a wet airer. Use them as local first aid, not as a whole-flat dehumidifier.
Key buying considerations
These products work in still, enclosed spaces. They fail in rooms that produce water all day.
Match the trap to the space
A hanging bag in a wardrobe is plausible. The same product in a living room is mostly scent and disappointment.
Refills and emptying
If you will not empty a brine tank, you will not use it. Hanging pouches are simpler in rented cupboards.
Mould still needs airflow
Absorbers do not replace leaving space between clothes and an external wall. Packed wardrobes stay musty.
