Damp & Condensation

Window Vacuums

A window vac is a mop for wet glass. It is useful on older windows that drip every winter morning, and it does nothing about why the water is there. Treat it as a way to stop mould on the sill while you fix ventilation and indoor drying.

Key buying considerations

Buy one if you already wipe windows daily. Skip it if the glass is only occasionally misted.

Battery life for a whole bay

A small vac that dies halfway along a bay window will live in a drawer. Check runtime against the glass you actually have.

Sills and trickle vents

The job is often the sill as much as the pane. A nozzle that cannot get into the frame leaves the mould behind.

It is not a dehumidifier

Clearing water from glass is hygiene. Removing moisture from the air is a different product category.
